RBS PPI SAR Help please

Sent SAR recorded delivery 13th March, 2014

Signed for 14th March 2014

Received response 7th April, 2014 requesting ID to proceed with request.

Returned details 8th April, 2014.

Received letter today from RBS advising that they are collating information.

My question is do RBS have 40 calender days to respond from the 14th March, 2014 or from 8th April, 2014 ?

Thank-you for response.

Fee and request received 14th March, 2014 therefore 40 days from this date or will it be when they received ID details on or about the 9th April, 2014 ?

Yes 40 days from date of receipt. That's 40 calendar days, not working days.

Right SAR details received today for both RBS Mastercard and Mint.

After painstakingly reviewing bundle, I now have a few questions that I may need some help with and I will concentrate on the Mint Card first.

The account was opened in February 2000 and they have only provided statements for period October 2001 onwards due to inactivity on the account, in which they are unable to obtain from system. Sorry for stupid question but will this be a problem with completing PPI spreadsheet details ? If it doesn't can anyone possibly direct me to where I might find it thank-you.

Is there any other way of requesting PPI paid amount details from RBS / Mint ? I myself will try and locate details but where in the loft (if I still have them) they might be lol I have no idea !

Ok Bazza--first of all --can you give us details of the statement for Oct 2001 including opening balance and any notes within that statement

Do you think there was significant activity from Feb 2000 to Oct 2001?

In the SAR----look carefully--does it mention when PPI was taken out?

So yes there probably was some activity and PPI payments.

Also there are some late payment charges - can I claim these back ?

Right--ring them first of all and ask for info from OCT 2001 again

Late payment charges are easily claimed if greater than £12

we need to now see all the details and will help you-i will post up a speadsheet tomorrow for you to enter what you have and we can then take it from there

Yes of course---from feb 2000 to Oct 2001

Yep i'll get you a SS for bank charges too---

Remember---we keep claims for Bank Charges separate from PPI Claims as they are separate depts within the organisation--and if mentioned in the same letter--you will get the "passed it on to another dept" answer

Yep i'll get you a SS for bank charges too---

Remember---we keep claims for Bank Credit Card Charges separate from PPI Claims as they are separate depts within the organisation--and if mentioned in the same letter--you will get the "passed it on to another dept" answer
