Dear All
I have posted a rejection letter from Barclaycard re my old egg card so that you can all see the approach they take. I have also posted the terms and conditions against the card so again it may prove helpful to other people in a similar situation.
The basis of my claim is that my existing medical condition chronic asthma should have negated the PPI cover which was completed online.
Looking at my Egg Card Payment Protection Policy on page 3 it clearly states
What Is not covered – Accident, sickness and Life Cover
Point 2
Which is caused by or related to any physical or mental illness, defect, recurring disease or chronic or continuing disease of which You were aware or in the reasonable opinion of the insurer You should have known about at the Start Date.
On page 2 of the rejection letter it states that
An independent review of the sales process blah bah...
I am satisfied that you were provided with enough information to make an informed decision etc....
I would have been told about any significant exclusions
and advised that the policy may not cover you for a pre existing medical condition like asthma.
Any ideas anyone....
Kind Regards
Alan
