Hi
I am a newbie on LegalBeaqles and am looking for help. Barclays have accepted my PPI claim but are offering a very small refund (£410) and I'm not sure what to do next?
In January 2012 I wrote to Barclays regarding my mis-sold PPI payment protection on my credit card. I had PPI insurance from some time in 1992 up until 2004. Barclays wrote back very quickly not accepting our claim, but after I engaged the Financial ombudsman, Barclays accepted my claim and offered £159. They stated that they no longer held records prior to 2005 and this was the best they could do.
Luckily I still had some statements (not all) from 1996-2003 and was able to see that, on the statements I had the PPI repayments were £228. So on advice from the financial ombudsman I again wrote to Barclays in June 2013. Now in April 2014 Barclays have written back offering £410. Is this a fair refund? what should I do next? what can I do next.
Any help much appreciated!!
