Dear All
Please for give me for my ignorance in these matters but I am only a simple Aerospace Engineer.
I have joined this site as I would like other people’s opinions on a PPI story with HFC Bank (HSBC)
I have made a claim against HSBC bank for a number of PPI policies that date back before the 1998, On one of the policies the longest, HSBC stated they had no details/records, I wrote back and provided them with eight statements from Oct 02 – May 03. I stated in a letter that I was unable to provide other statements but would contact my Building Society for further evidence on payment, this I duly did.
Prior to me sending the further evidence in HSBC wrote back upholding my claim and stating it there letter this was the final offer, however they had only included the eight statements from Oct 02 – May 03 within the offer of the compensation claim
I feel I need to make it clear that the evidence of payment I was seeking from my Building Society were statements showing a direct debit payment to HFC Bank and the account details. The Coventry Building Society came up will all the statement from the year 2000 to 2004 showing payments. I copied these and compiled a summary of payments and sent it off to HSBC Bank.
I have now been contacted by the bank and they are stating that they are not prepared to use the statements as further evidence and therefore the original offer stands.
I find this very hard to swallow as they have admitted that they had miss sold the policies but because I could only provide them with eight statements showing the PPI payments they are only willing to compensate me for those.
Could some give me there opinion and what would you suggest. Also do I need to be able to provide actual loan statements for the whole term of the loan?
Many Thanks
Roger
