  • PPI against Norton

    Hi everyone,
I've found this site from a quick search on google... I've currently got a PPI claim in with the FOS started a couple of years ago. It was initially started under Endeavour finance, but the FOS have recently determined that it should be Norton finance who the complaint should be against. Now I've got serious financial problems at the moment due to a marriage break down and another thing which I will post about in another forum. However, when I've looked into the state of Norton I've found that they've gone up the creek as well. Should I contact the financial compensation scheme regarding this, and if so what kind of compensation would I be looking at bearing in mind that this goes way back to 2006 initially and the money involved was about £5.5k. Any info would be greatly received.

    Cheers...

    Re: PPI against Norton

    Hi and welcome

What year did you take out the loan?

If Norton were the brokers that set up the loan then the FOS are correct that you pursue these, Endeavour are the lenders who they passed you on to for the loan after the application was completed.

If Norton are no longer in action then the usual procedure is to then make the reclaim through the Financial compensation scheme, as long as you taken out the policy after 14th Jan 2005 onwards.

It just a matter of contacting them to be sure they are listed with them, and I'm sure they are, they will send you a form in the post, you then complete it to the best of your knowledge and send any copies of relevant info you may hold, but they will also do their own investigation, pass on to a team called Deloittes, once that is cleared through them, Deloittes then pass back the claim once complete with the calculations, the FSCS then have it checked, and a cheque will be issued.

(That was the procedures when I made a claim a few years ago).
