Re: Ppi for members in armed forces

    Hi there

Oh and I forgot to welcome you on the other thread, so welcome to LB.

To be honest I believe there is more paperwork involved in using claims companies and from what I know of they will also take a chunk of the money, where basically its a matter of just completing one reclaim complaint questionnaire for each business who sold him PPI and just keeping a copy.

The fact that he is army then he has good grounds, especially if he was in the army when they sold him the finance with PPI.
However, there are lots of reasons that may apply to him where he could make a reclaim.

Basically what he should get back if successful is all the PPi he paid plus the relevant interest that applies.

If your other half have not signed or agreed for a claims company, feel free to ask for help on here, all free where he will get to keep all his money if successful.

    Good luck.

Re: Ppi for members in armed forces

        Hiya

Personally I would not use a claims company, the Financial Ombudsman Service etc and even the banks will insist to do this yourself.
It should take up to 8 weeks or less, but its known its been taking longer by using claims companies.

I take it your partner not signed anything yet with the claims management company?

As long as he has an account number for each account, you can therefore continue to make a reclaim, so if he did have PPI and taken out loans whilst in the army, it would be basically to apply that to the complaint form.

If you let me know the banks etc, I will forward you the details of each bank to you with details of how to reclaim by completing their ppi complaints form etc, cheers x

        Here is Black Horse:
        http://www.blackhorse.co.uk/Motor/PPIComplaints.html

On this link you will come across the ppi questionnaire complaints form http://www.blackhorse.co.uk/Motor/ComplaintsFAQ.html , that is all you have to do, so do not worry about claims companies. The link above also explains not to use a claims management company x

I have just added more info to my above post.

We are not going to be sure on the amounts as yet, but basically he should receive a breakdown of what will be refunded and they must go by the rules.
You can always post them up on here once they send him the letter with a breakdown and someone will check them for you.
