Great Universal Old Acount Cover Plus..

Feeling a bit low today, I found an old great Universal catalogue account dating back to 2001 and noticed I had account cover plus for a good 6 years, with a large ish balance I was paying through the nose.... I was also unemployed at the time of opening the account, so what would the advantages of account cover plus of been!!!!!!!! I did try to contact them but with no joy because the dates are too long ago to retrieve any info, they say that my account number brings up someone elses details:tinysmile_aha_t: I contacted the Ombudsman but after 35 mins on the mobile grrr they said that it was out of their jurisdiction because the cover was on before march 2001, so I needed to contact them myself at Sandringham house Chelmsford. Can anyone give me any advice or templates etc, or am I p**sing in the wind here because it was so long ago. Many thanks.

If your unable to go this avenue directly with them, then contact the catalogue to request details of the underwriter/insurer, this is the avenue the FOS would suggest if this was the case.
I held a catalogue in the 90's, insurance was added, I was successful, but then I did find catalogue statements, if you find any then its worth you sending them copies, they may even track down info that way.

Hello everyone....im a newbie...i had a very large balance on great universal catalogue and are sure i had ppi on there..but got no statements..luckily i had a consolodating loan and paid it off but i want to know where i can contact these people to see if im owed any money back...please help.....

I think the business is now part of Shop Direct, but it may be difficult or impossible to pursue a claim after so long if you have no records.

K&co is basically no longer.
They have all (Empire, Kays< Great Universal et al) become Littlewoods which is part of Shopdirect.
