  • ppi help needed please

    hi all,
looking for a bit of help if you don't mind,as am not quite sure what to do about an offer i got??.

took out a home owner loan against house in 2005 and when we had sold the house we thought we had paid off the debt in full as they had lift the loan off the house in order for us to sell it,after claiming back the PPI the company have said we still owe them nearly £900 which will be coming off the balance.what i don't quite get is, we haven't heard anything from them since we sold the house in 2007.

can they still take this from us?????,would this be classed as statue barred as i live in scotland and it's past 5 years????.

just don't know what to do about it,any help would be much appreciated.

    thanks

    Hi and welcome

(Also responded to your PM) :tinysmile_grin_t:

Have you requested for a SAR (Subject Access Request) for all the paperwork on your account?
As details may be enclosed that may be useful to help your case.

If you have not done so but need the SAR template letter, let us know and one of us will be happy to post up the template for you.
You just enclose the one off payment of £10 cheque or postal order and they have up to 40 calendar days to comply.
(This is optional of course (SAR).

I am not sure about the statue barred postion via Scotland and hopefully someone will know and post up soon of this part of it.

But have you also tried writing asking for an explanation on why this have occurred as its gone 6 years since you heard from them, or contact in writing the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Manager) of the business, explain your concerns to them.

Good luck please keep us posted and meanwhile keep a check in case of anyone else posting up with some useful info/advice for you.

I'm not sure about the statute barred stuff---what I would say--- you are possibly starting enquiries re a Loan Balance thats been forgotten--dead and buried

Of course--check your solicitors final invoice re the sale of the house---the detail COULD be in there if the company dealt direct with the solicito, and they added the the loan balance to the amount outstanding, which the solicitor would send to the company from the balance of the sale proceeds.

What year did you claim your PPI back btw?
