Hi Di.... I had a mortgage with Halifax late 1980's -- early 90's in Glasgow till 2004.... I believe I paid PPI... I didn't work at the time and my husband was disabled... my husband passed away 2002 ... I sold up in 2004 and moved to Gran Canaria...could you please advise me as to what I do next... A friend visiting G.C. told me about this site....

Hi Jssmcgrath, & welcome to Legal Beagles.
Claiming PPI back as far as that is a tad more difficult, but not necessarily impossible.
Documentation is all-important.
Do you have records going back that far?
The original agreement, copy of the proposal form, terms & conditions?

May I ask if you have any paperwork in relation of this account at all please?
Do you have anything to do with Halifax now, still a customer by any chance?
It maybe a long shot, but if you not details in paper of the mortgage, if your local to Halifax, call in on passing by, ask if they can try checking all accounts you have held with them.
