  • DSAR Template

    Hi

Firstly, it is so refreshing to have found a great forum about PPI.

Please can you help I am looking to claim back PPI I was self employed and I have taken several loans out in the past with several banks I recall having PPI on it.

My question is how do I find out about these accounts etc as I cant find the paperwork. Is it a DSAR that i need to complete if so can you please tell me if there is a template on here and where as I have tried to look for it.

Is there anything else that I need to complete and send to these lenders.

    Thanks

    Steve

        Re: DSAR Template

        Hi and welcome

Remember, if you had so many loans/credit cards with the same bank/business, one SAR with one payment of £10 cheque or postal order is sufficient, you can use your bank account number on the SAR if it was through the bank on your SAR letter template, in order for them to track down all your info etc.

Otherwise separate SAR's for every business.

When you come to making a reclaiming complaint, who ever set up and sold the ppi are the ones you then pursue, even if your loan application was forwarded on to a lender, but if you had a further loan with the lender the application was passed to, you pursue the other loan complaint directly with the lender.
I thought about mentioning this because this can be confusing.

If your unable to track down loan account numbers, check your banking statements, if your still with the same bank now where the direct debits came from to pay for the loan, then the account number is usually shown next to the name of the lending bank and amount etc.

So basically, if you enough information, your reasons for making a reclaim and the account numbers you can continue to make a reclaim by completing a complaint questionnaire, or writing a letter of complaint, although it seems that most financial businesses have now adopted the complaint questionnaire.
Always keep copies of what you send for your records, and in case you need to complain to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) later on, on a final decision if rejected.

Ask for more help if required. Good luck.

          Hi Again

I am also helping my cousin claim but her circumstances are rather unique. Basically her husband passed away and he was on the one who took out the mortgage. The mortgage was solely in his name. The mortgage is now paid off but the paperwork shows that ppi was added. Can she claim?

          Thanks
