Re: Egg/barclaycard Information Request Refused
It looks like the account WAS sold to Barclays:
If you received a letter from Barclays with a Barclaycard number, then your Egg account was sold to Barclays. Citi were the previous owners and a few accounts were left "in limbo", which are the ones run by Canada Sq. Operations (which happens to be within Citi HQ and are a Citi owned company). I would say you should send your SAR to Barclays quoting both account numbers just to be on the safe side, although a SAR should be subject (a.k.a. person) specific, not account specific, which means they should supply all data they hold under your name. :thumb:
WHO did you send the s.78 CCA request to and what sort of response did you get, if any? :noidea:
Is this an account you have defaulted on and are trying to assess whether it's enforceable or not or are you still paying and trying to obtain statement to reclaim PPI? A s.78 request is normally send when you want to determine the enforceability of the account as all you can expect to get is a copy of your agreement (or a reconstituted agreement), various T&Cs and maybe a statement of account, but not all the statements you'd need for PPI purposes, you'll need a SAR for that. If this is a closed account with no outstanding balance, then there is no obligation to respond to a s.78 request but they'd still have to respond to a SAR. Hope this is clear, if not just shout!
