Re: Lloyds being difficult about PPI claims

A reporter from the Times newspaper who went undercover at one of Lloyds' complaints handling centres, Royal Mint Court in London, says he was nudged to ignore possible fraud by Lloyds salesmen and also steered that most complainants would give up if rejected first time.

I just wonder how many complainants who did gave up initially then went on to a dodgy CMC to get heir money back, imo if there are some Lloyds should be accountable for any losses suffered by claimants.

I think I read that across the LTSB brand there was a 97% and 87% turnover in FOS claims that went in favour of the consumer......

The Banks don't want the Consumer to go to CMC's.
But these Banks are not treating the Consumer fairly, are they?

So what are all supposed to do?

The FCA, do not appear to be doing much. Perhaps, it is now time for the FCA to take enforcement action against these Banks!

The Consumers patience is running out...I for one am fed up with being given the runaround by Banks who should now better.

Lloyds Tsb, just to name one is taking the Micky Mouse out of us; treating us like un-empowered fools.

And yes, I am very Angry: GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

p.s. And there are some jolly good claims firms, they are not all bad!

What St. Bernard states is completely correct. Please do not give up on any Lloyds TSB Claims. I say this because they paid out on my other half's loan last year but refused to do so on the credit card PPI despite our many letters back and forth. In the end, last November I sent the whole lot to the Financial Ombudsman. Lo and behold, today we receive a letter from the Ombudsman saying our claim has been upheld! Lloyds will make an offer and will do so in the next 12 weeks. I suspect we will receive the offer earlier rather than later. There's a massive article in The Times today about the whole situation with Lloyds giving all the sordid details - it makes for interesting reading that's for sure. The lengths they have stooped to know no bounds. Do not, I repeat do not give up if you have a claim with Lloyds TSB !

Lloyds TSB are still using this unfair business tactic/strategy...misleading customers!

Only last week a letter dated 30 May 2013 dropped through the letterbox (long template letter) turning down a valid complaint RE: an individual who was self employed and had suffered from chronic sciatica since 1969:

              Second paragraph:

"After considering the evidence and any documentation or information available to me, I have not found sufficient evidence to agree with your allegations that your PPI policy was mis-sold.
As such, I am unable to uphold your complaint."

Go away and refer your complaint to the FOS blah blah blah

signed: Matthew Rowlands - customer services.

Lloyds/Deloitte, could not have looked for information, as they had only been looking at the PPI complaint for approx. one week!
Lloyds did not even ask permission to write to the GP, in order to ascertain the accuracy of the sensitive medical data that would have impacted on the 2001 Loan PPI.

Further, there is a huge DPA issue with the PPI claim also, of which I will add to this thread later.

Not giving up on this one, as I am personally involved, even though the PPI claim did not emanate from me...Horta Osorio sent me a small flower bouquet, which I presented to the local church; a token of my disdain!

Just an update on my battle with Lloyds, who referred me to the FOS (the seems to love passing the buck to that service)

Anyhow, because my complaint involves a breach of section 7 DPA but also banking concerns, I was unsure as to whether the DPA is within the remit of the FOS?

                        The FOS said they will look at my concerns but suggested that I contact the ICO also. After speaking to the ICO, who took my concerns very seriously, they (ICO) advised that I should make a cross complaint;
one complaint form for the FOS and another for the ICO and copy both ICO and FOS in!

I must confess that I was very pleased about how seriously the ICO viewed my unfair treatment by Lloyds, the FOS too...

Update, ICO has received my complaint dated 19 June 2013.
Just waiting to hear that FOS have also received my cross-complaint, also.
