Landrover Financial Services - Claim More Than 6 Years Old

I have just been told by Landrover Finance that they cannot process my claim becuase they have destroyed the original records and have simply referred me to the Financial Ombudsman and/or the Finance & Leasing Association. Is there a code of practice that would compel Landrover to keep records for more than 6 years? Also, are there any template letters to make them think about their suggested route to go straight to the FO or FLA.

I do have all the original paperwork, so I'm just assuming that they're hoping that I've lost it!!

How would you suggest proceeding?

If you have the original paperwork you dont really need them to search

However, they are supposed to keep records of the agreement for 6 years after the relationship eneded under money laundering regulations

If you feel you have good grounds for claiming and have the original agreement together with proof of payments at the amount shown on the agreement including PPI then gather the reasons for your allegation of misselling and write to them.

What are the reasons you intend to claim under?
