  • can you dispute payment to ppi claims company

I have a question to ask about ppi claim groups can you dispute the payment to the company?Obviously I signed a contract to give them the go ahead to look into my claim, this was in march of last year. In November I emailed them asking for an update as I hadnt heard anything I was told they chased it up and the lender had requested more time so were geven an additional 7 days. I emailed again a few weeks later and was told it had been given to their fos team. In January I emailed to say I was thinking of backing out of claim due to the length of time it had taken and between January and march a few messages went between us with them saying Id be charged a feeetc if I did this. Then in May I had a look on the site at my account and it was thanking me for accepting an offer which I hadnt received so I phoned them. Apparently an offer had been made in September. Surely if they had been chasing the lender up like they said and getting in touch with FOS they would have found this out. I have contacted the lender today and they agreed the offer was made in september of last year and would resend the offer out to me. The group want 39% of the claim can I dispute this and offer less or not as it doesnt seem that were doing what they said they were?ThanksJules

Can you please say who the CMC is ?
Have you asked the FOS if they had any contact with the CMC?
The offer can be checked as to if it is the correct amount, people on here will do the calculations.
Hope this helps for now. Enaid x

Yes I think you should just check with them and Santander to see exactly who they have been in touch with.

The first and most important thing you should do is make a formal complaint to Claims Advisory Group setting out what has happened and pointing out that they have breeched Client Specific Rule 18 of the Conduct of Authorised Persons Rules - ''A business must keep the client informed of the progress of the claim...'' http://www.justice.gov.uk/downloads/...-rules2007.pdf

Not only didn't they keep you informed but misinformed you.

Registering a formal complaint is important because if the dispute escalates you have evidence that you were dissatisfied with their service prior to you receiving your PPI compensation and not just attempting to avoid their fees.

Is Santander intending to pay you directly or are they paying your PPI compensation to CAG?
