Can anyone help? Signed up with Lifestyle Claims (£352.49 paid upfront) had a successful claim for £1013.00, for which I have now had a demand from Universal Collections saying that i haven't paid Redhawk Legal. Never heard of Redhawk legal until I called customer services and found out that Lifestyle had gone bust, now I am worried that if I don't pay they will get a CCJ against me. My wife is going nuts and telling me to pay to stop debt collectors calling at the house? Can anyone help please?

Re: Redhawk legal
Hi there
Call the Ministry of justice (MOJ) of claims regulation to explain about this matter to them as they deal with claims companies, you need to say you not used a company to make a reclaim and feel the business have made an error sending you out this letter.
Have you tried making a reclaim yourself?
To contact the above here;

Let us know how you get on, good luck.

As far as we understand it Redhawk are not entitled to have anything to do with your claim. This is because at the point Lifestyle's administrator sold the on-going claims to Redhawk, neither Lifestyle or the administrator held a claims management MOJ authorization, for which passing details of claims to anyone is a regulated activity.
Also we are not clear whether Universal should hold a consumer credit licence in order to collect Redhawk's debts but we're working on that.
I would e-mail Universal with a formal complaint a) disputing the lawfulness of the assignment of your claim to Redhawk and b) that you believe that they should hold a consumer credit licence in order to attempt to collect the alleged 'debt'.
You should also send a complaint to the Claims Management Regulator ay the Ministry of Justice
