    Anyone Help?

Am looking for a PPI policy dated 12/2000 or 12/2001 issued by GE Capital Bank Limited in relation to a loan from Curry's/Dixon's.

Of course Santander are dealing with these claims but dont appear to have the PPI Policy.

    Thanks in advance.

Re: GE Capital Bank Limited PPI

Okay, after some digging it appears that GE Capital Bank changed its name to GE Money in 2000.
And I don't think Santander bought all of the GE Money account?

Anyhow, looks like the insurer may have been Genworth Financial:

    I'm still digging...

      Hi hun
      Sorry I havent posted earlier.

I was searching for the policy details but cannot for the life of me find them.
However, yes it is probably them of Genworth.

I wrote to them and was successful in a reclaim, you should be ok x

        Many thanks for responding Di!

The claim is re: my OH, who has had to write again requesting a copy of the PPI policy. But yes, it does look like it was under Genworth Financial.

Santander, appear to have their knickers in a twist...
However, he has all his statements together with a valid claim reason.

I will post up any progress.

Had the same treatment AC. Keep at them.
I was surprised it was straight forward with Genworth.

              Okay, will do.

Incidentally, the insurer was the Consolidated Financial Group.

Santander, are trying to pull the wool by saying that the insurance did cover the self employed.
              What rubbish...

And that the PPI was not mis-sold because the in-store sales person gave advice.
              More rubbish!

Ooh what are they playing at!!!

As far as I can recall the policy does not cover for self-employment, and what concrete evidence can they provide to you that it was sold with advice? (they wasnt there)!!!!
Ask them for the evidence to prove that you were given advice, it was the same for my hubby, no advice just all part of the finance! x

The game that they are playing is: we don't want to pay out any money...!

Yes, have asked the writer if, they are clairvoyant and did they previously work for GE Capital Bank/the Dixon Group?

The stupid letter totally contracts itself and IMHO is aimed at un-empowered consumers. I also included a link in order that the writer could view the fine that the FSA imposed on GE Capital Bank; a wanna be bank...

One is totally astonished at the level of staff who appear to be dealing with some PPI claims, not forgetting their rubbish template letters.

                    P.S.
OOh nearly forgot, the writer totally ignored the fact that the claimant had a pre-existing medical condition which is well documented on the GP's medical notes and since 1968/9. How convenient of Santander to ignore that this would have totally invalidated any claim!

A letter of claim has been sent to the underwriter.
Will update when a response has been received.

Had a reasonably conciliatory letter from Genworth, they are writing to Santander.

It will be interesting to find out what their next step will be?

Ooh that's the same as mine then, by every step, usually they write for amounts owing to you and Genworth will write back to offer that amount to you x

Trouble is that Santander say that they do not know!?
                              But they did manage to come up with two account numbers;
                              the first being an interest free loan that was paid off in the first six months (as was required);
the second was a loan over 48 months, which ran its full time.

We do hold Bank statements that show all the payments and copies of CRA credit files showing the amounts and duration.

Not impressed with Santander over this one as they appear to be obstructive.

Let us hope that Genworth play the white man, so to speak; play fair?
