SEPARATE POST AS SUGGESTED I posted a few weeks ago on how I had decided to get in touch with MBNA, Capital One and Halifax regarding PPI for cards I had in the past, have received letters from them all acknowledging that they have received my claim forms, Capital One and MBNA saying that I will hear there response in 8 to ten weeks Halifax saying I would hear back in 4 weeks. Today I got a call from Halifax wanting further information, I informed them that I wasn't prepared to speak to them about this on the phone and if they put anything further to me in writing I would be happy to answer, needless to say by the attitude I got in return they were not happy with this reply and told me that IF I wouldn't answer any questions on the phone they would have no other option but to make the decision on the information they had, I told them that was fine and to do that and hung up........... I now await there reply in writing to my PPI complaint, I dare say they will, as they are known for doing, refuse my claim, I wont give up tho, If they do not state a reasonable explanation I will be writing back asking for the reasons....... ill keep you posted.

Did you complete a questionnaire when you sent in the claim? For example here is their webpage: http://www.halifax.co.uk/contactus/h...ain-about-ppi/
The questionnaire bit being the important bit"Family means that no one gets forgotten or left behind"

Personally, I don't see any reason not to provide the information they require even if that means you have to get their phone number and prepare for the likely questions, ie do you remember who you spoke to, what was said, etc etc. However a refusal can still be appealed with the right information and that will depend on how the claim was presented to them.

Re: Halifax claim for PPi on credit card
That information is one of the thing that is asked on the form(section E). I assume you kept your copy of the form so did you complete that part?
Will be back later on as have to nip out to work but section E is where you write that information."Family means that no one gets forgotten or left behind"

Was it clear and unequivocal ie name of the person who sold you the policy(I would add that usually the name is on your copy of the loan agreement ie on the so called PPI bit)? You will be amazed how much you can find just from the loan document alone."Family means that no one gets forgotten or left behind"
