Hi, I am new to this forum, does anyone know if Blue Sky Personal Finance Ltd were reistered with the General Insurance Standards Council ( GISC ) I had a loan arranged by them in June 2004, since paid of, I know the FSA only took over in January 2005 but I heard that if the Broker was registered with the GISC then the FOS would consider my claim for PPI, any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure but will try checking it out for you.
Failing that, another avenue can be the insurer/underwriter of the policy.
The Financial ombudsman service (FOS) usually suggest this avenue if your unable to complain against a company non regulated, or if they've gone down under etc.
I assume back then the insurer would have been regulated.
I shall see what I can find and get back to you shortly ;-)

Re: Blue Sky Personal Finance Ltd GISC Registered ?
Right, according to the FSA register they were registered by FSA from Jan 2005, but not details of if they were registed by GISC.
Here is an email address I found of the stated business and web address, maybe you could contact them to ask if the business were GISC registered, or you could ask the Financial ombudsman service on the free number helpline, hopefully they may hold the information of the company.

Any problems, and you find they were not regulated, please post up to let us know and we can try the insurer avenue. I was successful on one of my cases going the insurer avenue, and I have a letter that was specifically written to the insurer to complain, although they were not actually responsible for the sale, they do have liabilities etc.........
However, we will see what happens by you trying the broker avenue first and take it from there.
Good luck ;-)
