    Re: Ppi

    Hi and welcome.

Did they automatically apply the ppi to the mortgage?
Or were you pressurised into taking out one of their own policy's?

With mortgage insurance, as we all know it's best to have protection, but you should be able to choose who you want the protection with, and that it suits your full requirements.
    Some will cover self employment.
With your partner being employed by Central government, was your partner covered to meet mortgage payments through them as well?

I would try getting hold of a copy of your policy, and this should give you details of what is protected and what your protected for, and we can go from there. If it's found to be worthless to you, then we can make a start on the reclaming.

If you no longer have a copy of the policy, ask your lender to send one in the post, this is usually free.

        Hi there
So the insurance was not arranged by mortgage lender then?

What you could do is contact the insurance provider and ask for the details from the terms and conds of the policy, all details should be enclosed on them. You can then check if it would have covered you.

Yes you can, if you believe it was wrongly sold or that is didnt suit your requirments, you are in your right to complain and make a reclaim.

It is possible, this is why its best to check the policy details to check if they do or no not cover for self employment ;-)
Some do and some do not.
