Abbey mortgage PPI

[Hurricane Puffrose]

we had a mortgage with Abbey (now santander) and we were told to take PPI or lose the mortgage!
We are planning on reclaiming it, but they want the policy numbers and who provided it, and we cannot find the paperwork.. any ideas?

Hiya

You can make a reclaiming complaint just like a loan ppi, so for this you will require the mortgage account number.

yes we have all the paperwork for our mortgage (just paid it off YAY) but we know we had PPI just cant find the paperwork! think it was about £40 a month

If the insurance was not paid the same time or within the mortgage, who was the insurance provider? Even though as you know you would have to pursue Santander because they taken over all liabilities, if you contact their data protection unit they should find details of the insurance that was provided to you.

I wrote to Santander data protection unit, who confirmed the insurer on request. Ok mine wasnt in regards of a mortgage but another account, but they should track down information on your insurance by using your mortgage account number, or you can track down the mortgage insurance account number on statements if you did not pay it within the mortgage, the name of the insurance provider for the mortgage should also be enclosed on your statements. ;-)

How long were you paying ppi to them? hopefully you will be able to track down the ins account number on a bank statement ;-)

10 years, 10 year mortgage.

problem we had is, we are about a year in to a DMP and changed banks.. so.. hes hunting for the old bank statements.
