  • Help with PPI/Halifax

Hi, please can anyone help me. I have received documents back from Halifax following my SAR I sent them in relation to a loan and a credit card. With regards to the loan I took out I have a document they sent but cannot seem to upload it as it is too big. Does anyone know how I can do this. I took a photo of the document on my phone. It says something about a one off insurance payment??? The agreement they sent me was also not even signed by myself so I have no idea what boxes I ticked or didn't tick.

With regards to the credit card I took out with them, they have only sent me 2 out of 8 pages. The first page says that If I require insurance tick the boxes on page three but strangely enough page three has no boxes on it so again I am unsure if I ticked any boxes.

Is it correct that the banks/BS's don't have to send an original and that they can send a reconstituted copy of an agreement?

      Hi there

Hopefully someone will be along to explain how to attach, tech issues I'm not good with sorry.

In regards of lack of paperwork, I would contact the business and say they failed to send you the full information where you had the rights to this (make them aware you sent a SAR request, where they should comply) and tell them to send you the missing information by 12 to 14 days, or you will be contacting the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) to complain.

Another thing as well, you said the agreement was not signed by yourself, that does not sound right either. I would maybe add this to your complaint.

As soon as you receive the information you require, then maybe you can make more head out of tail with it.
Still, there are many reasons for being mis sold, for eg: PPI added without your knowledge, pressured into taking out PPI, unemployed when sold PPI.
Maybe you had cover elsewhere, or other means of protection to cover your payments.
If there was a pre med condition at the time of being sold the policy.
If you already had cover with the employer.
Working less than 18 or 16 hours a week.
The list is endless, and being sold a Single premium insurance paid within the loan as a single monthly payment is also one of them that is frowned upon.
