  • LLloyds TSB PPI question

    Hi there,

I recently requested and received my personal information held by LLoyds under the Data Protection Act of 1998. I have received all statements showing when there was a balance on the account however I know I had PPI which I didn't want but it doesn't show on the statements ? They said they have no information regarding this and I would have to contact Lloyds TSB Insurance as they are not the data controllers for that.

I therefore have a couple of questions.

i.) Shouldn't I been seeing my PPI payments on the statement, and secondly
ii.) What would be the form of the letter that I would have to send to them. Would it be a another request for information under the above act with a £10 cheque for example ?

Any help at all on any of the above would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks

    Adam

      Hi

Depends on whether you are talking about a Credit Card or a Loan

Credit Card Statements will detail the monthly PPI paid within the monthly statement and is variable depending on your outstanding balance

Loan Statements will only show the total monthly paymnt--(incorporating PPI if applicable)--to determine if you had PPI on a loan..examine the Consumer Credit Agreement applicable to the loan (which should always be supplied after a SAR under the Data Protection Act

        Re: LLloyds TSB PPI question

        Hi Adam ane welcome
No you do not send any further payment, the SAR you paid for covers for everything they hold on you, including bank account details, if you had a bank account with them etc....

What I would do is call into your local branch, and explain the situation with them, and the data you have not yet received.

You can of course write further with a simple letter and state that you realised you dont seem to have received all the information under the Data Protection Act, and give them 14 days to send you anything further. Also state that failure to comply, you will consider writing or contacting the Information Commissioners Office (ICO).
(If you google in ICO) you fund further info on what the ICO do.

Which address did you send your SAR?

I used the one below, so if you want to write to them and tell them what you think you have not received, they should check on the files, achives they hold.
When I SAR's Lloyds, I received almost all the data going back from the 90's.

        LLOYDS TSB BANK PLC
        DSAR TEAM
        CUSTOMER SERVICES
        RECOVERY TEAM
        CHARLTON PLACE C57
        ANDOVER
        HAMPSHIRE
        SP10 1RE

You can however continue to make a complaint/reclaim to Lloyds about any of your PPI, as you do not actually have to write the amounts of what should be refunded, they should provide you with a detailed written breakdown once resolved, however, it's handy to have the information on hand at stome point though, as you can check for any important details that may help your case.

Here below is the link to Lloyds, they also have the complaint form (same one as on here) that you complete and send to Lloyds, the address is also enclosed on their website.
        Remember though to keep copies.
        Good luck.
