  • PPI Claim Against HSBC (Old Debt Involved)

I wonder if anyone can give me some advice here.

Going back to the early 1990's i had credit cards with HSBC, due to the economic decline i fell on hard times & defaulted, debt then passed to another HSBC company around 2009. I agreed a payment plan with them & stuck to it, someone told me to apply for PPI, so i did, HSBC came back to me saying they did owe me some money but want to pay it to their other company. I spoke to the National Debt Line after getting no answers from HSBC & the other firm.

They said i should offer to get a settlement figure from the third party, which i did & they accepted, i then wrote a letter to HSBC showing them this, they then verbally told me that this would happen, i kept ringing up over the next three weeks after revised paperwork before i sign, nothing at all was sent. Then today i called them again & they said that the settlement offer had been retracted by the third party after messing me about & trying to get me to sign these papers by saying there was a note on the system & my money would come to me & the balance to the third party.

The third party company is within there group & i suspect they have been messing around whilst they sort things out.

Is there anything i can do?

    Likely outcome?

The only other thing i can think is to make another offer & get a friend to settle the debt for me, then i guess they would have to pay me what they owe?

    Thanks
