  • ppi claim blackhorse/pinnacle

Hi there i wonder if anyone can give me some advice please?
Back in 2004 we bought a car from brunel ford with the finance being provided by blackhorse and the ppi being supplied by pinnacle!
when i put a claim in to blackhorse they kindly sent me a copy of the credit agreement clearly stating that i had not taken out ppi with them and that it was taken out on a seperate agreement with pinnacle.
On writing to pinnacle they informed me that as they (pinnacle) had not sold the policy and that brunel fords salesman had sold me the policy then they were not responsible!

where do i go from here surely brunel fords salesman is acting as an agent for pinnacle so they should be responsible???

Any help would be much appreciated

    Re: ppi claim blackhorse/pinnacle

    Hi there and welcome

Whoever arranged the credit are the ones responsible, so in your case it is those of the car dealers.

Did you word your letter as claim or reclaim? The wording can make a difference, for example, if you were to make a claim, for unemployment/sickness etc, then you would have to make the claim through Pinnacle, but a complaint on "reclaiming the ppi" are the car dealers, so I would write back to them and state that you want to make a "Reclaim" on the ppi, as they were the business that arranged and set up the finance account, and give your reasons.

Any probs from here let us know and we can try other avenues, for example, if the business were not regulated by the FSA when you taken out the car finance, the Financial ombudmsan service (FOS) will then suggest the insurer/underwriter, so it may be a case of going back to Pinnacle later on, but do follow the step of going with the arranger first.

    Hope this helps, good luck.
