  • RBS PPI reply, not enough reasons given to claim. and another refused.

    Hi Guys

I have recently had a couple of knock backs from RBS relating to PPI claims,

Albeit the claims go way back to 2001 and another beyond that date, i have received two letters stating that that i have not sent enough reasons to make a claim,
When i replied by telephone with the reference numbers provided, i was told that it was a generic reply from RBS, but have nothing back since, this was in July.

The knock back that i received from RBS, arrived with copies of the original agreement, highlighting, seven days notice of cancelation of policy waiver,
stating that i had enough time to think over what i wanted from a policy etc,

This does not, mention the fact that i was still made to feel at the time, that i was obliged to sign the agreement in order to get the remortgage, (although i do not think i initially mentioned it on first application for a refund of the PPI.)

Just to mention another snippet that sticks in the back of the mind , is, when applying for mortgages etc, didn`t we all get charged a fee upfront from the banks in case we Defaulted on any repayments.

Can i have some help or adcice with this, or at least some quality feedback,

    Thanks Guys

I'll pm di30 for you--she'll know where they are or post up one from her experiences

Cheers Turbo and Steve, will get down to this now and add the relevant information.

I would definately write back to them and tell them you are not happy and give further information that you would like them to consider.

Firstly, I take it you have already tried to make a reclaim complaint, and they rejected on the grounds of you not giving them enough reasons?
And this was all done by telephone and not writing?

If this is the case, then yes do send them a letter, or a reclaim questionnaire where you can also add further information, or if you prefer to do it in writing that is fine too, as you can state that you are writing in regards of a complaint that was rejected, and as it was confirmed I've not given enough reasons, I now apply the full reasons and explanation in my letter.

I will add the link to both questionnaire and template letter, you can add or tweak to below.
In regards of the mortgage side of things with charges as such, I'm sure someone will be able to confirm on that, but from what I can recall, upfront fees were applied.

Just give me a min to add the links, I shall be back shortly.
