I was told do not even send the stop message, it only "proves" to the sender that the number exists. Have O2 got a spam number like vodafone?

Sorry PR, you are not going to like this answer, I agree 100% with DT - never reply to those text messages as now they know she exists - be ready for the barrage of more text messages from different numbers. Not sure if there is a TEXT preference service like they have for phones and faxes. Perhaps someone will advise us.

not sure if that works for mobiles, like the spam numbers each seem to have a slightly different way of desling with this problem.
See else where one set has been fined.

As I cannot sleep I did some checking.
You CAN register a mobile with TPS but they say it will only stop live marketing calls and NOT text
