    Re: My lifestyle case

Heard back from MOJ - It's being forwarded to the relevant compliance CMR officer and they'll let me know who's dealing with it.

I didn't realise that they'd sent you a questionaire, I just thought they'd rejected your complaint.

This is a response i got today from SWANSEA TRADING STANDARDS.......

                Dear Mr Goodwill

Many thanks for your e-mail and for completing the standard questionnaire for us. The purpose of the questionnaires is to draw in information about consumers experiences and problems about companies in the Swansea area, to see if there are any potential breaches of Trading Standards legislation which warrant action being taken against those companies. Any investigation which arose could be with a view to criminal prosecution, or for injunctive action in the county court. Either course of action is likely to take some time to conclude.

I also need to clarify with you, for the avoidance of any doubt, that, as stated in our original letter, Swansea Trading Standards is not in a position to advise consumers or assist with individual complaints, and we will not be taking your complaint up with the company, as our focus is the investigation itself. However, if we need a witness statement from you, I will contact you again and ask whether you are happy to make one.

As far as your complaint is concerned, if you need any further advice you need to seek further guidance from the Citizens Advice Consumer helpline, who can be contacted on 08454 04 05 06, or your local Trading Standards Service. Another option would be to complain to your credit card company who may be liable for any breach of contract or misrepresentation under the “equal liability” provisions of Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.

                Regards

Any suggestions as to where to go from here, i have been in touch with my credit card firm already.

I thought TS would look into this for me or am i wrong ???????

                  Re: My lifestyle case

Now you have this letter from TS go back to your credit card provider and tell them what Swansea TS have told you that it is your credit card company that should refund you as the company have not provided a service under section 75.This was also highlighted on Rip Off Britain on one of their shows on BBC Let me know how you get on please.

Lifestyle Claims we found out today have had their terms of their authorisation altered and now they are not allowed to take upfront fees and they have to keep a log of all complaints. So the MOJ have taken onboard what we have told them I believe.

read here from MOJ website http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...tion-Crm-16588

The reason why MOJ didn't withdraw their authorisation completely is that they would no longer have any jurisdiction over them.

Well done and just as well as lifestyle have just gone into administration as I thought they would once the MOJ were scrutinising them more closely.

You are very welcome to stay around on the forums and help others as I am sure there will be a lot of people in the same boat as you were.
