    Re: ebay

    Hi

I never had any dealings with ebay myself, but imagine some will have done on here and will post up in due course.

I assume ebay will have details on their site of terms and conds etc? Maybe worth checking them as well and meanwhile, I hope someone can help on this matter for you soon.

    The best of luck.

Hi Gillwall, if the buyers were close enough to collect you could offer to credit them via paypal if they return the item to you, or you collect it from them. It's the only way you can test the speakers to see if they do still work. I'm not saying this is the case, but some dodgy buyers try to pick a fault hoping you will credit an item rather than risk getting bad feedback. If you offer a full refund on the return of an item they usually backdown if it isn't a genuine complaint. If they agree you could always put the item back on but make sure the next buyer tests it in front of you.

Hi all thanks for the replies
The customer lives in Lancashire, and im in the west midland. Out off curiosity i looked at their ebay profle and another item exactly the same was purchased within the same week as mine. Any way i have spoken to ebay, who have made a note on my account, they suggested that it should have been tested on collection i asked and this was declined, so i have emailed the customer saying this, i will just wait and see what happens next.
            Thanks

So are ebay saying it is the buyer's risk for not testing when offered and you are therefore in the clear?

                Re: ebay

I recently sold a set of motor bike head lights on Egay, sold them as used which by their description is "Used: An item that has been previously used. The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully operational and functions as intended. This item may be a floor model or shop return that has been used. See the seller’s listing for full details and description of any imperfections."
in my listings I put slight blemishing on chrome covers and brackets.
The buyers complained to Egay resolution saying that the chrome was pitted and they wanted a full refund, even though I pointed out to Egay that it was used and I mentioned the blemishes/pitting in my description they still gave the buyer a full refund and I had to pay for the money transaction fee from PayPal.
Like wales01man said they nearly always side with the buyer

                  Re: ebay

And this is why I don't do Paypal!

Unfortunately as the seller, you have virtually no protection whatsoever. Paypal and Ebays 'investigations' are nothing of the sort, they just arbitrarily judge who they think is telling the truth, and then will 9/10 side with the buyer.

Its why I refuse to use Paypal for ANYTHING, there is NO protection.

It might be 'easier' for Ebay, but it sure as hell isn't safer!

Best thing you can do is to tell them on receipt of the goods being returned to you, then and only then will you refund them.

Chances are, they won't, because obviously the scam is to get the goods and not pay for them and not pay for them to be delivered.

Can I ask how much the item was approximately?
