  • Local Authority Employee - PPI Claim

    Hi,

I was speaking to a colleague at work who is currently going through a PPI Claim using a Claim Company who have stated he can claim because he is a Local Authority Employee.

I am looking at doing the same, but would like to do this myself minus a claim company and would be grateful to hear if this possible as a Local Authority Employee myself and any help in relevant information/reasons to put in the FOS PPI Customer Questionnaire to help with the claim.

My Personal Loan applications were applied for online so never actually spoke to a salesperson.

    Many Thanks

    Graham

    hiya graham,
welcome to LB if you havent already been welcomed

PPI? ooh you have come to the right place, if you request the claims forms from the relevent card companies and then give us a shout, there are PPI experts who will be falling over themselves to help you

If you mark your thread, HELP WITH PPI or something similar just so it catches their eyes.

A profession does not necessarily mean that you automatically qualify to claim PPI. You can reclaim PPI regardless of profession. To be honest, when they said he could claim just because he works for the LEA, that sounded like utter nonsense but it sounds good if you want their fees

First things first, did you have PPI with the loan that you took out? Did you have any other benefits with your job that might have been covered by the LEA stuff, for example, sick pay? For example, any pre existing medical conditions? Any obvious likelihood of a loss of your job? Were you on a permanent contract rather than temporary?

Online sales can be difficult to to do, Di is usually pretty good on PPI stuff as are others on here.
      Many Thanks

See above but anyone can claim PPI misselling and thankfully you are willing to do it yourself and keep your money yourself rather than relinquish it to someone else who will cream off the amount you would get back yourself.

        Thanks for the replies.

Yes I had PPI on the Loan.

I was permanently employed Full Time, and as I have recently been told yes I would get sick pay (I think it's full pay for a certain time period, then it goes to half pay)

I had no previous pre existing medical condition, and no likelihood of losing my job.

        Many thanks

        Graham

Having a look around I've found this article :

          http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/c...insurance.html

          which part of it says

If you already had alternative cover that could insure your repayments - such as income protection or an employer illness or redundancy package - but were not asked about this, you could claim.
