    Re: Lifestyle claims

I have answered on your other post. They will send you a pack and this HAS to be returned otherwise they will not refund you.

You must also if you want to cancel write to them either by email or and by special delivery advising them that you wish to cancel as you do not want to use their service.

If you have any problems please let me know.

      Re: Lifestyle claims

I have had nearly one years correspondence with the Department of Justice who regulate the companies such as Lifestyle Claims. I was sent to this government department by my local Citizens Advice Bureau in Birmingham. An illiterate, 74 year old man who is a near neighbour has been fleeced by Lifestyle. They reclaimed £704.98 from Lloyds TSB for PPI and asked him to send them a cheque for their fees of £230.16. They phoned to say the cheque hadn't arrive so he stopped it at his bank and sent them a fresh cheque. They phoned him and said that the cheque hadn't arrived either so he allowed them to take the £230.16 from his credit card account. They then cleared the cheque. Before he realised this they persuaded him to let them take another £352.50 from his credit card to recover PPI from that card account. He has recived nothing from Lifestyle and his official complaint has not been answered. The Ministry of Justice asked for bank statements, credit card statements, copies of the cheque(front and back). I spoke to the lady from the regulation department and asked her what the company said when she phoned them. She had never phoned them. She has never written to them by ordinary mail. She emails them. My elderly neighbour is reliant on her protecting him from these crooks. She sends them emails to tell them off. I sent her links to pages of complaints on the internet about Lifestyle - she said people could be telling lies. I asked her if the police would act - she thinks £1,000 is too small a sum to provoke a police response. I find all of this incredible. If anyone wants the address of the regulation department it is Ministry of Justice, Claims Management Regulation Department, 57-60 High Street, Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, DE14 1JS. My neighbour just happens to be black. He thinks that his colour is the reason these people are allowed to rob him so blatantly. Sad world eh? Sad system. Sad, sad country. Thanks for allowing me to tell someone about this.

        Re: Lifestyle claims

        Hi Feonten

Many thanks for posting up about your neighbour and Lifestyle Claims.

I believe that this matter should be reported to the police as well as trading standards and do not believe for one minute it is to do with race, colour or creed.

A formal letter needs to be sent to Lifestyle Claims urgently by email and special delivery with a cc to the Ministry of Justice advising that in accordance with their terms and conditions of holding an authorisation with the MOJ, sufficient time has elapsed and since no refunds have been forthcoming you want a full refund of all monies paid. Advise them that should they not respond positively within 7 days this matter will be reported to the police and trading standards. The monies they have taken are fully refundable should they not be be able to assist you with a refund in a timely maner which 8 months is more than sufficient to have received a refund. The fact they took both cheque and credit card and have not had the courtesey to refund the credit card or the cheque is dispicable.

I have had a few sucessesses recently where I have helped people get the return of their initial monies back some as much as £3k and where Lifestyle have fully refunded the initial payments but that was after writing a formal letter requesting this.

We here at Legal Beagles are due to be having a meeting with the MOJ in the coming weeks and cases like this will most definately be bought to their attention as Lifestyle Claims constantly flout the terms of their authorisation with the MOJ.

Let me know if you require any further help and certainly let me know how you get on.

          Hi Tuttsi, (TUTTSI!?)
thanks for your reply. No it isn't racist but when you are 74 and have lived here 50 years and you are black, based on personal experiences and knowledge (if I may quote you) there is a tendency to suspect this first. What other reason could there be for a government legal department to refuse to act when they are supposed to be regulating the crooks who have robbed him? This is how he thinks. I can understand the thought process. Anything you need to produce as evidence in your meeting with the MOJ I'd be happy to provide you with. They are very poor performers. Thanks for your interest

            Re: Lifestyle claims

The case highlighted by the OP has Fraud by False Misrepresentation written all over it. Certainly, the police should be involved and so should Trading Standards.

I've run some checks on Lifestyle Claims and come up with the following -

Name on Register of Companies: Client Connections Limited
            Trading Name(s): Lifestyle Claims
            Co. Reg. No.: 06637623
Reg. Office Address: Princess House, Princess Way, Swansea SA1 1SD
Business Address: 9, Axis Court, Riverside Business Park, Mallard Way, Swansea SA7 0AJ.

Their MoJ CRM Number is 16588.

As Tuttsi said we do have a relationship with Claims Management Regulation at Ministry of Justice in London and we have already sent them a dossier of cases about Lifestyle. It sounds like you've been dealing with the MOJ's arm in the Trading Standards office in Burton on Trent.

If you'd like us to effectively take up your case we would need a detailed account of your neighbor's dealings with Lifestyle in chronological order including copies of all correspondencece to date with both Lifestyle and MOJ. It's important that you obtain your neighbor's permission to pass this information to us and in turn to MOJ in order that we comply with the Data Protection Act.

Don't post the information on this thread but send it by private message to either Tuttsi or myself. Alternatively you could e-mail it to admin@legalbeagles.info

If you or your neighbor are not comfortable with providing us with this information then we completely understand.

                Re: Lifestyle claims

Wonderful. I will speak to him later and get his agreement. He will obviously be pleased with your offer but I would prefer to have his authority. I am only his typist really! The Claims Regulation Unit is in Burton on Trent but they appear to have no powers or purpose. A long period expires between sending a letter and getting a reply and they have once claimed to have sent a letter when I complained about a 9 week delay. Thanks for your interest. I have repeatedly said that it is a criminal matter but the MOJ lady didn't think so.

                  Re: Lifestyle claims

Please let me assure you that claiming not to have received a cheque when, in fact, you have, then taking money by credit/debit card, and then cashing the cheque, is a criminal offence, namely, Fraud by False Misrepresentation (Sections 2 and 12, Fraud Act 2006). Not only is the person who told the OP's friend that they had not received the cheque in serious trouble, but so is the company and its directors, company secretary, managers and company officers. On conviction, the company would be liable to an unlimited fine, but the human beings would liable to up to 10 years' imprisonment. This type of offence is despicable anyway, but to do it to an elder is beneath contempt. In some cases, 10 years' imprisonment just isn't enough. The MoJ needs to stop staring at its collective navel, pull their fingers out and get the police involved.
