    Re: Hsbc Reply Letter Help

Evening all, guess what HSBC have today rejected my PPI claim originally started September 2011, and they state this is there final decision... I replied to there letter in Feb 2012 with further evidence and chasing them with regular phone calls and today they have stated they are not to support my complaint..

To rub salt in the wounds they also add to contact FOS , but they may decline to consider the matter due to it being longer than six months... I have waited to hear from HSBC since February 2012 for there decision ... This is how they treat a 25 year customer ,any advise would be appreciated please.. As you all can imagine I'm absolutely seething in there seemingly delay tactics..

      Hi there

      What are they like!!
If the final decision letter date they rejected is recent, then you will have 6 months as from this date.
It's not your fault they taken all this time, and with you forwarding further information they should not go by the Feb date.

      That is disgusting of them.
You could give their CEO (Chief executive officer) a go, tell them how disappointed you are with the complaints team on how poorly they dealt with your complaint, they made you wait over a year, and been a long term customer of 25 years. They may reconsider a final complaint, but it's up to you with the worry of the final decision if they are going by Feb and not this final letter you recently received.

Your local MP maybe helpful and write to the CEO on your behalf.

Welcome to the HSBC club, that in deed is the way they treat their customers, Bank somewhere else if I were you, but do not give up on the PPI Claim, especialy if it is genuine, FOS will be a waste of time that is why these people tell you to go to them.

The C.E.O is Mr Stuart Gulliver BUT do not expect a reply from his office, just some so called Manager who reckons he has asked them to reply (Not).

Thanks guys , as previously stated it took nearly 8 months for the HSBC to reply to my further evidence to support my claim.. My reply from HSBC is a 2 paragraph letter with no explanation on how !! or why !! they have further declined my new evidence . I will look into both your advice lines , i also have a policy through HSBC with legal support .. It would be nice if they took my case on!!!! .....Clutching at straws maybe hey..

That sounds like a typical no response reply we have got to know from HSBC, most letters (Template) come from different places around the U.K., send him a Formal Complaint, Recorded Delivery, they then have to give a response within a time limit (8 weeks if I remember correctly), no doubt you will get a Coventry response sometime then Salford who do not know what Coventry has said.

see how they eventually reply, I am sure others on here will comment as well.

                    Re: Hsbc Reply Letter Help

I see you're getting great help from Di & Mike here, Rubens. Yeah - we are finding this 'stonewalling' attitude quite prevalent with the lenders these days. Personally, I think it is because they have literally run out of lies to tell us, because they've tried every trick in the book and been caught out with them all. It really does seem down to just being persistently persistent - and badgering the CEO. Maybe - just maybe - someone will make an effort just to get you off their backs, but you will have to dig your spurs in first, and hang on in there cowboy !!!
                    :llama:.....yeah....I know.....it's a bucking Llama, innit ? !!!

Regarding spreadsheets - As Mike says, Budgie has some excellent simple-to-use spreadies here, but they are geared primarily to penalty charges reclaims. Turboman and I have been liaising with Bud and admin recently, and are hoping to get some dedicated PPI spreadies put in the library here soon. It's a bit more complex to work out the figures for PPI reclaims on credit cards, but we have a spready here that can be adapted to suit various scenarios. The most accurate way is to refer to your monthly card statements and enter the data from those into the spready. However, there are other ways of estimating the PPI if necessary - but these are not as accurate. I've attached a copy here, if you'd care to try it. It's set up for the most common scenario, and calculates in accordance with the FSA guidelines in PS 10/12 (specifically Appendix 2, Example 6). Hope it helps.

6 months from your latest HSBC letter stating final response, so that I believe is recently so you are within 6 months from the date of their reply, FOS will look at 6 years charges for fairness, or they did with me, but not before.
