  • RBS PPI Claim

I was notified by RBS that my claim was upheld for a loan paid off in 2003 and as it was a front loaded PPI attached I was pleased they upheld this complaint that was six weeks ago and they said I would be paid in 28 days ?

    No payment yet !!

What I was wondering is that due to my requesting an SAR on my account in November (still no SAR and is now over 40 days) are they witholding this payment
    for some obscure reason.?

I am not sure of the next step other than to chase up the SAR.

Has anyone else a delay in their payment?

I think that RBS, along with other banks, are struggling to pay out within the 28 days they are quoting. I don't think the delay would be related to your SAR.

      Well done on your success.

Have you tried ringing them direct?

the SAR shouldnt have any effect, RBS are currently way behind their 28 day target and if you questions them they wil admit that that is actually 28 working days, they are currently about 4 weeks behind so think 28 wking days (6 weeks) + 4 weeks = 10 weeks from when they get your signed acceptance for back.

if you phone their manchester office the recorded message is quoting 60 days for response on new claims. your SARS request is a seperate issue and best you go into your local branch, speak politely but firmly to the highest rank you can find, and get them to email internally to the SARS team. you may also find that the re-payment may be split between interest and actual re-payment of insurance premium. For some reason the latter is paid from a different source within their organisation. Again call manchester 0800 015 0319, but i found 0161 755 6890 gets a quicker resonse. Report your SARS DELAY DIRECTLY TO THE OMBUDSMAN AS THEY HAVE FAILED!!
