  • Should I accept Halifax offer re PPI claim?

    Hi,

I decided to claim against my credit card PPI after receiving a call from We Fight Any Claim. I knew that there was probably ways I could earn more money doing it myself etc. but as wouldn't have a clue thought it would be bonus money if I did win..but to be fair didn't really expect I would be that lucky!

WFAC advised that they thought I would be entitled to a claim total of £3000 from the Halifax however after paying upfront fees to them, I received a cheque in the post for £2100 directly from the Halifax to settle the claim.

They have included a breakdown of how they have refunded me and seems fair. However WFAC have offered more and have said that I shouldn't accept any offer I may receive from the Halifax to settle but to go through them.

I am concerned that if I don't accept the Halifax offer that they may then rescind any offer and I could end up out of pocket

    What should I do??

    Hi

    I think this depends on

How much your upfront fees where

How much more do the cmc say they envisage getting, can they justify that belief?

I presume they will be looking for a percentage of the payout they secure in addition to there upfront fee, so you have to work out what the net value would be( the amount you would actually get) if they were to pursue and actually achieve a bigger payout.

You must also be mindful that if they only achieve the same money you will be out of pocket to the value of their percentage fee.
