Hi L/B's
Just need some advice about a claim I made in april regarding accidental damage to my computer. The insurance company replaced this for me as the original was unreperable, liquid was spilled onto the main unit. The computer was only about 12 months old. My claim was passed onto a company named 'SPIRE Techhnology'
In the initial stages of the claim Spire contacted me saying due to the high specs of my computer they have had to build one manually as the original was no longer available to purchase. Being told that the replacement would be as good if not beter than the original. (This is stated in the terms and conditions of the insurance)
To cut the story short I have just foud out the replacement is no where as high in specifications as the original pc, and the pc model that was damaged is still available to purchase.
I have contacted the insurance company explaining all the above, enclosed specifications of both computers, the original and the replacment and asked for my computer to be replaced with the same model or one as good. If not please forward founds and i will purchase it directly. When one of the above had occured i would then return the replacment pc.
Sorry this goes on so long, but i feel i have been ripped off. I contacted the insurance people today enquiring to see if they had recieved my letter, they had not, although i have a electric signiture to say it had been delivered.
In reaying the events to the lady on the other end what had happenned, she replied "You accepted th replacement, and should have checked out the replacment pc online. " I tried to explain, the pc was built and not available to purchase from a retailer.
Have I handled this correctly and do I have a case for complaint, any further advice on what i should do next will be greatly appreciated
Many thanks
