    Re: miss sold ppi

    Hello and welcome

May I ask if you were employed?

I understand disability payments can be made even if employed, but saying that if you were to make a claim for the condition you have when the policy was sold to you, they would not pay out on a pre-medical condition.

So in my view you do have a case here.

They should have had at least taken in your disability into account when this was sold to you, they obviously did not and still added the premium to the loan.

So employed or not, in my opinion you do have a case here.

Below are some links to some useful details and how to make a reclaim, when you complete the reclaim questionnaire, save copies as well, this is in case you need to make a complain to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) later on, for example if the business does not uphold your complaint in your favour by the final decision.

    Reclaim questionnaire.....

You do not require the calculations on the complaint, as they do tend to send a breakdown when resolved.

Do you have the paperwork to the accounts?

Hi, thank you Di30 ,the answer to your ? is no I was not working and I told the money loaners that when I took out the loans.I did put a claim in on 1 loan due to my partner being diagnosed with terminal cancer ,Icould not claim on that loan but was informed I would recieve a payment from a previous loan that had just been paid off as I had a ppi on that loan . I also still have the paper work for both loans that I am still paying and each has the monthly payment for ppi on them ,may I also say that I have requested a while ago to have one of the ppi`s canceled but was told by the bank I could not cancel because of the previous pay out for partner even though they were both separate loans .

        Hi

        Thanks for posting back.

I do believe you have a good case here, they should uphold these at first instance, so I would get a reclaim in, do not worry about the calcs at this time, see what they come back with and they can be checked later on with the relevant paperwork you may have.

Primarily, you have been sold Payment Protection Insurance when you were unemployed, this means it is completely useless. Therefore you have a claim.

Secondly, Have you ever made a claim on the PPI policy?

Thirdly, the abbreviations they use are all different, for example Lloyds will use Loanguard Protection Insurance, and Halifax will use Payment Protection Insurance, they all mean the same basically so don't get too confused by this.

Get the complaint in and see what comes from it.

Thank you reclaimsuk and Di30 for your help, I am in the process of getting the claims sent in just trying to work out the calculations I know how much the ppi`s are over 5yrs and how much i`m paying per month ,but apparently I need to put the interest on top and that has been changing each month when I put payments through .I have no defaults or holiday breaks as I wanted them to be paid on time with no charges for late payments.
