  • Barclays failure to pay agreed PPI sum on time

Hi- frustratingly after 16 weeks in September Barclays upheld my PPI claim. However instead of a final resolution I was sent a letter quoting an 'estimated sum' and an undertaking to repay all sums (once firm claculation had been completed) within an additional 40 Working Days. It has now been 55 working days and still no letter or sum received. I have spoken with Barclays and they say there is a backlog and nothing they can do and the FSO just stated would have to raise a complaint- any suggestions? As I do believe it is disgraceful that even after the additional 8 week waiver Barclays are buying themselves even longer to resolve and reach finalisation. All help gratefully received.

    Hi there

I can understand your frustration, as it seems its not getting anywhere.

Have you emailed the CEO of the business?

And maybe your local MP, if you contact him or her, they may write to them on your behalf, (remember they will want your vote, or you may have already voted for them previously).
If you decide to contact your local MP, ask him or her to send you a copy of their letter and any correspondence received.

Keep pushing, you will get there.
Good luck and hope you receive your refund soon, oh and well done!
