Re: PPI with Girobank.
Hiya
Thanks for the info.
Right then, well I would get on to the reclaiming then.
She will need to pursue the actual business that sold her the accounts, so I take it all 4 were with Girobank then?
If so they should have a complaints dept or an head office address, and these are best posted by recorded delivery.
I would therefore use the reclaim questionnaire and if mis sold all for the same reasons, one form is sufficient, but make sure all the account numbers are enclosed on the reclaim questionnaire.
There is no harm in dealing with them separately either, and still post in the same envelope to save money on the posting.
Either way its fine just as long as all account numbers that apply are enclosed on the questionnaire.
The questionnaire will ask for an insurance number, but normally that is the same as the loan itself, as the PPI is normally added within the loan as one full monthly repayment.
You will need to state the policy was/and "is" if currently still active, let them know the reasons of a pre medical condition they would not pay out when trying to make a claim.
And in my opinion this matter was not discussed when it was sold to your friend - otherwise she would have known it would not be suitable for her, also because of the pre medical conditions.
The reclaim questionnaire was issued by the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) and it saves time later on, for example if your friend needs to make a complaint to the FOS, she can then forward a copy to them.

As also shown on the FOS site here.

As stated above save completed copies.
I would also check for more information on the link on this site.

Hope this helps, but if your friend does have any paperwork/agreements, you can post them up here (delete personal details) and maybe one of the folks on here can check the calculations, although these are not required to actually make a reclaim, maybe they will come into use later on into the reclaim.
Good luck and ask for further help if required.
