  • Do you have to accept offer

    Hi,

Ive had 7 claims going through with the Black Horse for 3 years now. They did say they where ready to make offer in jan2011 but all went quiet.

Now claims company says they have made an offer of just over 5k for all policies.Does this seem a bit low?

Do I have to accept this?
Can I insist that a breakdown is sent to me from claims company for each policy?
Can I insist they put in writing if the offer was including interest?
can I insist on 8% interest being charged and for what period of time?

    Thank you.

Without knowing what you are actually claiming i.e. PPI or what amounts are on each claim, then its impossible for any of us to answer you questions on whether 5K for all is a bit low or not.

As for accepting an offer, it is totally up to you, though generally an reduced offer does not include interest. If they offered a settlement in full then you can only claim 8% interest for the last 6 years prior to the date of your complaint

      Hi

If you have any calculations of your own to post up, then I'm sure someone will check them out for you and compare them to the offer.
So any agreements you have, the details should be enclosed on there, and start and settlement dates etc.

Did they word their offer as a goodwill gesture with a full refund?
