    Hi
I claimed ppi useing a special company that delt with this type of claim, after i claimed as we know the ruling was made that the banks had to pay up,so i placed a cliam myself with the bank, after a few weeks they came back with a letter saying they would pay me out what i was owed on the ppi and put the money right back into my bank account{great}then i received a letter from the first company saying they had won the case and i owed them £700 for doing this,i said to them that i had delt with the bank and that they paid me,so you policy is NO FEE NO WIN. who is right?????????

    Re: PPI

firstly you need to speak to the Bank and find out if the claim that paid out was the one you issued yourself or the one the claims management company issued for you.

Secondly did you cancel your claim with your CMC in accordance with their T&C's? usually needs to be in writing.

Mosts CMC's have terms which state if you cancel a claim outside of the 14 dayd colling off period then you have to pay some cost, either for the time they have spent on the case or if an offer has already been made then at their usual fee rate.

also its likely the T&C's of the CMC state you should not instruct anyone else to act on your behalf on the claim or take any actions with the bank without notifying them first so again there could be issues here.

If you can supply the name of the CMC I can get a copy of their terms from their website and advise a bit more specifically but from the sound of it its likely you would owe them something.
