I personally thought he was just boring, ill prepared, and simply gave the title of this thread the most ridiculous one so far. In fact, I continue to find the videos boring, not adding to the wealth of knowledge already seen on the forum and a waste of my time trying to listen to the droning dull tones of his voice. In fact, I expect to see another video shortly on PPI(and we've all done our reading anyway so he'll add nowt to the debate).
Glad to hear some of you find the videos interesting but I do hope and pray that he will make it a subscription service only cos then I have a easier reason not to listen to them.

EDIT; and it is poor manners not to switch your phone off if you are going to do a video.

Re: My Most Important Video - Alex Woods

A little while ago, in a galaxy not that far away, they had the idea of doing podcasts. These were to be audio tutorials on various aspects of reclaiming charges, etc., and the purpose of them was not to edify those of us who have been posting our stuff here for what seems like decades - but to help those who really couldn't be @r$ed with ploughing through all the verbal incontinence that peeps like me leave on the forest floor. Not slick presentations, nor easy listening. But certainly not made for the purpose of telling us old grannies here how to suck our eggs.

So - yeah - Simon Cowell would not exactly be beating a path to Alex's door, I agree. But I have spent 4 years explaining to peeps what the difference is between compound interest and simple interest, Contractual rates and the Statutory rate (and Compound and Contractual are NOT the same things, nessecelery), Debited interest and Compensatory interest. Peeps who ain't thick - they just don't do maths - or just can't be @r$ed to read up on it. I got no problem with that - we all need simplified, or condensed, versions of stuff we're not good at or just don't like. In fact, I'll declare it here and now that I have given Alex some advice on the maths aspect recently. I've thought of doing a video tutorial on that stuff, but I'm not as good-looking as Alex, and slur my speech, so that's a no-go !!!

I still haven't read the JR transcript, as I can't be @r$ed, so I'm waiting for EXC's summary of it. If he could present that as a video, I'd watch it - and wouldn't throw food at the screen !!!

TBH, I'm interested to hear that this lender seems to feel threatened by a claim for Compensatory interest at the Contractual rate - and the duty of mitigation is becoming an important aspect of PPI claims, which I believe will be used more and more, as lenders look for ways to reduce payouts. I can't say that the video was entertaining - but that's because it wasn't meant to be. Just a bulletin, really.

If you want entertaining videos, guys, I'll send you some privately. I'm not in them - and they're not about reclaiming charges - but they ARE truly awful.

It will be interesting to hear what Alex has to say about the Bank's throwing in the towel RE: the BBA appeal.
