Am I entitled to still refuse to sign anything sent from Welcome as they have admitted that they cannot "enforce" this account and still produce documents for another numbered account at a previous account. And a "statement of account" said the interest was 1%!
(Been looking at the posts from Poochie and she has really been thorough the mill with theses Muppet's!)

Now had the "decision" from FOS afraid they seem to be on the "side" of Welcome. want us to sign to allow them to credit our "account" no mention as if this will finally solve it and still no proper paper work from Welcome.
Very reluctant to sign anything from this bunch and the FOS has give us until 20th January to accept or reject.
any on any ideas of possible out come if we rejected this?

      Hi
Not had the chance to look back this evening on the posts sorry, but is this one gone as far as the Ombudsman himself?
If not and your not happy with that actual decision, I am aware you can request to have the case reviewed.
Please accept my apologies if this is already a stage you have been through.

I would double check if you do have the opportunity to have the case looked at further first, ie, the main ombudsman at the very final stage.
Email and ask if you can, just say, you are not sure if your happy with the outcome or not at this stage, and will you get another opportunity to have the case reviewed, we can take it from there. x

The problem with Welcome/FSCS is that Welcome's PPI liability is massive, and FSCS probably don't have the funds to cover it. By settling claims by reducing the balance of outstanding loans, FSCS have been able to solve their funding problem. Going to be very interesting if Norton goes into default as Norton wasn't a lender and so claims can't be settled as they are with Welcome. There might be a sharp drop in the FSCS uphold rate if Norton do go into default.

Welcome were the first firm to write to me saying I might be owed PPI, think that's what they are all supposed to do. Filled their form out and got £1300 back. Have since reclaimed £25000 in total from others dating back to 1998. Of course the 8 per cent interest is taxable but the nice friendly tax man allowed me to pay it back monthly and just adjusted my tax code for the year.

Hi i took out a car loan back in september 2002 with welcome finance and have made a
claim for ppi directly with them. They sent me a claim form out to fill in which i then mailed
back to them, a few days later i received a letter saying FINAL RESPONSE claim rejected as
it was outside the relevant time limits!
They say they are not liable on or before 27 february 2003 but the insurance provider which
is Aviva, so i have just rang Aviva and gave them my dates and account number of the
insurance taken out and they are sending me a info pack out for the claim, does anybody
know what will happen next or will they just try and fob me off!!??
                              Regards Mark :-)

=di30;201067]It was confirmed on my e-mail news update that Welcome Financial Services are now in default.

This was send by media news update from the Financial Compensation Scheme (FSCS), so anyone who have been mis sold PPI from being sold this product from this broker/lender can apply through the FSCS.

FSCS declares Welcome Financial Services Limited in default

                              2nd March 2011
Customers of Welcome Financial Services Limited (WFSL) may be entitled to receive compensation from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) in relation to advice on or the arranging of payment protection insurance (PPI) by the firm on or after 14 January 2005. The FSCS does not cover claims for compensation in relation to PPI business conducted prior to that date.
The FSCS has declared WFSL in default. This is because the firm is unable, or likely to be unable, to pay claims against it in relation to PPI. WFSL sold a substantial number of PPI policies to its customers, and a declaration of default opens the way for those customers, and any others who might have valid claims against the firm that are protected by the FSCS, to make a claim.
The FSCS will now be responsible for PPI claims against WFSL. To assist in its handling of claims, the FSCS has arranged to use WFSL’s claims handling resources. However, the FSCS will remain responsible for all decisions on claims, which will be made in accordance with FSCS rules, and will closely oversee and monitor all steps in the handling of claims. This arrangement will enable claims to be processed more quickly and efficiently.
How to make a claim for compensation

The FSCS will be making arrangements to contact all policyholders who were sold PPI by WFSL on or after 14 January 2005, and will work as quickly as possible to process any claims received.
If you do not want to wait for an application form to be sent to you, you should contact WFSL’s customer services team on 0845 373 0386 or write to them at Welcome Finance, P O Box 10950, Sandringham House, Harlow, CM20 9JF. Alternatively, you can contact the FSCS customer services team on 0800 678 1100 or 0207 741 4100 to ask for an application form to be sent to you to make a claim for compensation.
If you have previously submitted a complaint to WFSL relating to a PPI policy that was sold to you on or after 14 January 2005, and you are awaiting a response, you do not need to do anything more. We will send you an application form.
How long will claims take to process?

WFSL will work as quickly as possible to process claims for the FSCS. We will keep claimants informed of the progress of claims.

Hi and welcome (no pun intended) lol.

Its usually the underwriter/insurer suggests to go if no joy with reasons like yours.

I would personally write to the underwriter to complain (pm me if you wish to see my letter i done) as wording it is going to be different to that of complaining to the broker etc.

Many are in the same position due to the fact of them being non fsa and prior to 2005.
