a signal of a hold is considered a final response for taking a claim to the fos or a final response letter either way the fos will expect a provider to have exhausted the complaints system first.

        Hi there

        Check this out here.

        http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.u...complaints.htm

If you've heard absolutely nothing at all, you are entitled to contact the FOS and ask if you can pass your complaint to them, so basically as long as the 8 weeks have passed and you've heard nothing within that timescale, you could contact the FOS, they will take it off your hands and they will therefore carry on and ask them for a decision.

However, if this was me, I would directly contact the business who are supposed to be dealing with your complaint and ask for an update first, ask if they are actually dealing with your complaint.

Did you post your reclaim by signed for recorded delivery, and definately know it reached them?

Forgot to add as well, normally in the final decision they should enclose details of the FOS/leaflet details on how to complain.

            Hiya

Contact the FOS, give them a ring tomorrow and see what they suggest.
            Good luck.

With mine its been sitting with the bank since before xmas due to the JR, going to see what happens over the next month and may move on to the FOS if nothing have been done by then, they did say they would be dealing with my complaint, but i did have the option of the FOS.

                Your very welcome.

Worth checking then with them - ask if they will be sending out a decision over the next few weeks, ask them for a timescale, if they can't give you one, then you could think about taking your case to the FOS.

I assume your aware though it may still take some time with the FOS, due to the large numbers rising in these complaints?
But still only you can make that decision.
