  • Am I being fobbed off

    Hello to everyone reading this

I have a question About PPI. Looking at my credit card statment I found PPI being charged each month at the time I had no idea what is was so I asked for it to be removed when I was next in my local bank ( Lloyds TSB ), I remember the bank employee sighing as if PPI was a big problem in his life but he suggested that since I was unemployed at the time I could make a claim on the insurance.

I did start the claim but was unable to get hold of some of the information they required from my previous employer so they never actually paid out and I assume they have closed the claim due to lack of action on my part. I have since found a job with a finance company in their PPI complaints department and have come to realise that the PPI was put on my account without my consent or knowledge as I always refuse extra insurance such as PPI, its something they tack on to make more money from customers. I then started a PPI claim only to receive a letter telling me that my claim was one of those covered by the investigation into how PPI complaints are assessed by the FSA and BBA.

Hopefully some in the know is still reading at this point

What I want to know is, is my bank fobbing me off or is my claim special in some way and has there been a ruling in the last month that might effect me ?

Thanks to anyone reading this for you time and infinite gratitude to anyone with a useful reply.

Re: Am I being fobbed off

The BBA took the FSA and FOS to court a few weeks ago challenging the FSA latest rules

You can gen yourself up on this here:

    http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...ad.php?t=24880

This is the best thread on the subject by far on any forum.

Now if your claim was commenced before the 1st December the Judicial Review should have no affect as your complaint would be assessed under the rules in place before the 1st December but like everything with the banks that involve a lot of money if they can stonewall and exercise damage limitation they will.

hence why your complaint is on hold.

    Regards

      Hi there and welcome

Would like to wish you luck on your reclaim and please sit tight.

Quite a few of us have had reclaims via Lloyds, and I am currently awaiting an outcome as well on the last two I have with them.

Keep checking on the appropriate thread in regards of the JR for updates too.

Good on you as well for challenging this, in my opinion you have a good strong case here.

as the guys on here have stated sounds like they,ve put your claims on hold re judicial review di has claims on hold i,ve now got at least 2 on hold we,re going to have to wait for the j.r results although i,ve got a theory and this is only what i think and is not beagle sponsored, i think the banks know that there,s a good chance that they might have to pay out on the old claims that have been "frozen" sorry guys if i,m barking up the wrong tree i know these claims are one,s that the bank wants to assess on old rules not the new fsa rules but it,s a feeling that isn,t substantiated yet i think the answer is just hope for the best.
