Egg stance - no PPI refund calcs "Due to JR"

I thought it might be worth creating a seperate thread for this rather disturbing change in Eggs approach

We have heard from CMC's in the JR thread and individuals that Egg are processing claims but at the point of payout claim they are unable to calculate the due refund because of the Judicial Review

So,

a) can anyone that has experienced this new tactic post info here

b) can we discuss this and possibly play devils advocate as to why they may have a case to act in this manner whilst the JR is in progress?

I would add to the above that in my view at least, the FSA need to start taking a far tougher stance with this type of antic as it seems the banks are pushing their luck and in the main getting away with it scot free

I have reached settlement of a claim with the Co-op Bank and the FOS for over 8k gona ring my Bank in a short while and just check everything is ok as it has been 5 weeks since the agreement.

Will let you know what they say.

I have a fairly involved claim with Egg for PPI. The nuts and bolts of it was that I had an old Egg credit card and old Egg loan, both with PPI, that were consolidated into a new Egg loan with no PPI.

The cc was monthly premioum PPI. The loan was single premium. Total claim approx £2K.

Egg offered - without admitting any liability - a refund of the CC PPI and a proprtion of the single premium PPi for the old loan - but because I went to the FOS on the capitalised portion of the single premium PPI "transferred" to the new loan principle - they refused to pay out anything.

Has been with the FOS now for 9 months. I hear nothing.

Debtstar,

Stay with it fella 9mths is a relatively short period for the FOS JR or no JR.

Mine took 2.5 yrs via the FOS but it was a complex case on 9 PPI Policies, it can take upto 18 mths as a minimum on most cases.

No harm in keeping in regular email contact with the FOS just to make sure your claim is going to plan.
