  • Credit Card ppi

Those who have read my previous threads over the past few days on this site will know I suffer from a severe mental illness which forced me to take ill health retirement from my job as a headteacher.

At the time I had credit cards with cahoot, morgan stanley and egg. All had ppi and not one paid out a single penny. This was however going back to 2005 when I have notes of a last telephone conversation with the three companies about the ppi.

Morgan Stanley and Cahoot have been quiet for a few years so probably best to leave them until / if I hear from them again. However Egg has sold the debt to Lowells Portfolio (1) who are wanting their money.

Can I pursue this with either the ppi route or any other route?

    Thanks as always,

    David

    Hi David

    So sorry to hear this.

If they have not paid out, then its only right that you make a reclaim, its worthless to you, and left you out of pocket.

    Fight for what is yours.
You pursue whoever set up and arranged the policy from the start, by giving them 8 weeks to do so.

There is also a questionnaire, these were recently issued by the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) which you can use instead of a reclaiming letter, however you can do either.

So as you do with loan PPI reclaiming, its the same, you reclaim on credit card ppi the same way.

Ask for any help on this, but do not leave if there, good luck.

Also just to suggest, to post your letters by recorded delivery, for your proof of posting.

Oh yes of course, glad you mentioned that PF.

Lots have had bad experiences using claims companies, so with the help from here, have a go and ask for help when required.

Well they are after a piece of the pie and the majority have scant for your claim and are after the easy pickings.

Far more enjoyable to do it yourself.

I must agree PF, all your own efforts made, and besides its best not to waste money on any claims companies.

My hubby came in from nights going back a few days ago and said one of the guys he works with have started a claim with a company in regards of loan ppi, he told my hubby they do not charge, so i told hubby to tell him to check with them, so he did...........as you can guess, we were right, and now the guy said he contacted the company to try to cancel, they said "too late, charges will still apply, so he may as well not cancel" What scheming gits!
