  • Hubby's lloyds credit card/PPI/FOS

I did post a little about this matter on PF's thread, so thought I would just start off my own.

My hubby was paid out for his Credit Card PPI in March of this year, resolved by the FOS.
When hubby tried making a reclaim, they would not pay out, this is due to a pre med condition, but yet when he was first sold it he was told he had to take it as its all part of the credit card.

Anyway, even though lloyds paid out, we asked the FOS if they could check the amounts he received, they agreed and asked for hubby to send the details of the calcs.
As soon as they received them they confirmed they believe it didn't add up, but wanted to review.

So basically its 6 months on and today hubby received an email to confirm that even though Lloyds have not provided the FOS with calculations yet, they are willing to go by the guidelines of paying out, and it was then confirmed that the FOS should hear in about a fortnights time.

    So watch this space...........

I have a feeling this is not going to happen just yet now, since the adjudicator sent the email last week to say this will be okay and not involved in the ppi freeze..different things have been said since by others in the same situation and have to wait for their refund!

We shall see I suppose in the next week or so, may even email them just to get it confirmed again.

Di as your claim is with the FOS i really think you will be OK but yes contact the FOS again for an update just to put your mind at rest PF XX
If you think nobody cares if you're alive, try missing a couple of payments.

Hiya, yes PF, its actually an already resolved and a paid out reclaim, they paid out in March of this year but the fos confirmed they did not pay out along with the fos guidelines as the ombudsman requested, because it went as far as the ombudsman himself to have this resolved, so basically its the remainder they still owe.
          Another email won't hurt I don't think.

Shall post up when hubby gets a response.

What did FOS say was wrong with the way they calculated and also why do you think it is wrong?

                Lol thanks folks.
When this was resolved earlier in the year, they said to hubby as soon as he received his details/refund etc get back to them so they can check them over as the fos did not receive all the details from lloyds, which hubby did when he first made the reclaim.

Well when hubby spoke to them on the phone they did mention something about the interest, its a settled account, they then informed him verbally they were to recontact Lloyds on the settlement to ask them to review the figures, they then got back over a week ago to confirm they are recalculating and will pay to the guidelines of the FOS.

An update, as my hubby got out of bed from working nights, the phone rang, it was the FOS, they informed my hubby that Lloyds had underpaid on the refund he received in March and another payment is being issued by lloyds this week or maybe going into next week by cheque.

This is on a settled credit card account.

They are also to post the calculations through.

Thank you, yes it is isn't it?

Oops, almost forgot to mention, they did say another distress and inconvenience payment should be awarded too, not sure on the amount though, yet they did award him with this with the March's refund, but the fos said the ombudsman who dealt with it was not happy with the way they worked out the calculations and they did not follow them to the guidelines of the FOS as originally requested.
