Mary, Look up the case of Yates & Nemo http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...ad.php?t=23524
What i did when making a claim for single premium PPI (a big rip off in most instances) is complete the FOS's PPi claim form by referring to the breach of fiduciary duty that took place (and the alternative arguments that apply even if no such duty existed). The fact of the matter is each of Prestige, the brokers and the Life Office took their cut of the commission/profit in selling the PPI to you and if it was mis-sold then you have a good claim for the PPI plus the stat interest back as Pompey says.

The fact of the matter is that is thru Prestigae that you presumably applied for the PPI and they effectively sold it to you (despite what they may say).

Here is the link to the FOS claim form for mis-sold PPI. You need to send it to Prestige first. They have about 52 days I think to respond before you can kick it off to the FOS. http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.u...complaints.htm

          Re: Melbourne Mortgages

Hello I found and joined here today,I am in need of help with Melbourne Mortgages. I will try my best here In November 2003 we took a secured loan for £21,000.00 + The PPI of £2,365.00 over 180 mts We paid the loan out in full on January 2006 A grand total of £31,203.16 We have just really found out about all this PPI and miss selling so I found our old paperwork and wrote back and forth to Prestige who seem to use Melbourne as another name for their company Every thing was ok untill I asked for our PPI back + all these charges They have now informed me that we used a broker called the Black & White group and it is them we have to go looking for and it has nothing to do with ether Melbourne or Prestige But the only paper work we ever had is the Credit Agreement regulated by the Consumer Credit Act 1974 which says the lender Prestige Finance Ltd ( the lender which expression shall include its successors in title ) is in brackets.
Can any one help or tell me what I do now as I have come stuck and unsure what to do. Thank You all who look at this as it may be a little long winded.

Hi Mary I believe that you have posted before on the Melbourn/Prestige threads.
It may be best to make your complaint to the FOS and ask them to unravel this for you as I am not how best to advise you on this one.
Did you follow Debt stars advice on the previous post?
