Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

I had mort repay protection with natwest which i thought covered unemployed. When i went to put a claim in i was informed that i only had accident and sickness. I immediately cancelled this policy. However, I already had a seperate income protection policy that covered this (also from natwest, taken two years earlier) it was with Sterling level one cover. The person that sold me the mort protection did not ask me if i had alternative cover and i did not realise i had two lots of the same cover.I would not have taken the mortgage protection had i realised,do i have a claim for mis-sold policy?

I think the answer to that is yes because had you been aware of that at the time you would have not said yes.

Thanks, we did apparantly sign the form and the cross was in the acc and sickness box and for first person only, but i remember asking for unemployment protection for my oh and i was convinced we were covered, felt a right idiot when we sent the claim form in and they said we never had unemployment protection.

Was this a SPI (single premium insurance) ?.

        I immediately cancelled this policy.
If it is SPI, you should never cancel, the detriment to yourself is huge.

However, I already had a seperate income protection policy that covered this (also from natwest, taken two years earlier) it was with Sterling level one cover.
So, are you saying the same company sold you 2 lots of the same insurance ?.

IMO yes you do. Go get em kidd.
