  • Help Please with HFC PPI

    Hello everyone,

I have been reading all the info about the ppi and how to claim.

My Partner believes he was mis-sold a ppi by HFC in 2001 (the loan ended in 2007.)

He was told that the ppi was necessary to ensure the loan went through. The agreement also has pre-selected boxes.

I have already received all the paperwork from HFC via a S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) request.

I was wondering if somebody would be able to have a look at the agreement to see what he needs to claim back.

    Many Thanks

The agreement should have the PPI broken down, both as a value and interest applied.
Feel free to scan and post it up, after removing personal details of course.

HFC have recently been fined millions for miss-selling PPI and this is also a part of a large and complex claim I have ongoing with them at present.

        Int: 3374.29
        TOTAL: 7111.44
and the seperate insurance agreement (note same agreement number)
        Crit: 528.00
        Life: 60.47
        ASU: 102.54

          Morning Curlyben

I was a little confused at the 2nd (policies of insurance) - is that normal to sell you 2 PPI's ??

So would my partner need to claim back both of them ??

          Many Thanks

Not only is it NOT normal it's a seriously sharp practice and an excellent reason for going for the whole miss-selling.

Just another question how do I work out the 8% interest to be added on and at what stage is this done?

              Thanks

Sod 8%, go for ALL the interest you have paid

                    Hi Curlyben

The member of staff at HFC told my partner that in order to get the loan he had to get the PPI - they never asked if he needed it or if it was suitable.

I have been looking around the forum and have drafted a letter to send them today- I have not included any information regarding the 2 PPI's and wording with that would be great.

How do I work out the 8% ??

                    Many Thanks

                        Overall yes.
I'd also break it all down, as I have above.
Don't worry about the 8% stat int as this would only apply once a court claim is made.
In any case you are requesting ALL of the payments including interest be returned.
