Carl Wright has now got MoJ authorisation for his company About My Rights Ltd. The authorisation is also without preconditions, unlike his Grass Roots one. So worryingly he can now take everyone's deposits without them being protected.

This happened last August. Hardly new news? I recognise that there are questions, serious questions, about this persons integrity and honesty. So have you raised these with the MoJ? Because with the best will in the world, people here on the site are likely to be here because it's too late to warn them. Surely it is better to deal with this at its root and challenge the authorisation?

Sorry Eloise, chtp0103 has been doing lots of work with EXC, Tuttsi and myself keeping an eye on Carl Wrights activities. He updates the information as it comes in and it really helps prevent prospective victims being scammed.

That's good to know Celestine. But not obvious. Could we perhaps have a sticky on our friend and highlight the information? I don't know who he is from Adam, and I have been posting here for months. Why would any newbie read this as a valid "site warning"? If we are warning people off, let's collect the information and the threads and do it big time. As I said, once this is buried in the threads, the only people likely to find it are people it's too late to help.

Eloise, we took the whole dossier on Carl Wright to the MOJ offices in London last August when Cel,Exc and myself were present with Mr K Rousell and his team - have they acted on the information that Chpt kindly gave us with all the information and surprise, surprise a big fat NO NO. On this occasion we also bought to their attention what was happening to our members with regards to Lifestyle Claims and Consortium..... both went down the pan soon after leaving 1,000's of folk who had suffered at the hands of these CMC's scamming them and out of pocket for many thousands of pounds and now with further problems arising from this, which Exc and I have been trying to address on behalf of our members.

There is a lot of stuff about this guy Wright, but its all started by the same person CHTP0130, and its always the same 2 or 3 shouting this guy wright down. Now he does look like it's been a chequered past for sure, but why is it always 1 person starting threads about every wright company? and what is his agenda also? I would like to know does this chtp also do reclaims, or possibly have a "rival company", as if this was commercially driven and chtp is also in reclaims of ppi, then this would kind of discredit all the threads started.

Its just a thought as how else would they know each other?

Well I can vouch for CHTP personally that he is not a rival at all. His research is invaluable. Maybe the small matter of Carl Wright 'losing' millions of pounds of consumers money is strong enough motivation to keep an eye on Carl Just for the record, CHTP does this research with my full permission and support.

Justnew, CHTP0130 and others on this site know about Mr Wright because people like me and a few others have had the misfortune of previous involvement with the piece of scum that is Carl Wright. In my opinion (and please note, this is my opinion, I don't speak for anyone but myself), he is nothing but a common thief.

Now this is a complete stab in the dark but its not inconceivable that chpt is being entirely consistent with the very reason that this site exists in being genuinely concerned for the welfare of those who will fall prey to an established serial scamster.

But that's just a guess mind.

The point of posting is that the results show up in Google if you're searching for this company. If someone is considering doing business with this company and searches on Google for it, they will find the threads on here. It's then up to people to do their own research and make their own minds up. If it stops just one person getting scammed, it's got to be worthwhile.

Just a question - but what is your agenda? You just happened to be browsing the internet, which has nothing at all on it of interest, and "happened" to come across this thread on an obscure site that you aren't a member of.... So you joined up just to defend some guy you have never met and never heard of? Yeah, right... Hi Carl / Carl's missus / Carl's best friend....

I wish to make it clear that my comments were directed at ensuring that the maximum and proper steps are being taken to prevent consumers from being scammed by serial fraudsters; and to suggest that his practices and history is presented in the most effective way to warn people about how he does business. Then they may make an informed decision as to whether they wish to trust their money with him. Personally, I wouldn't touch him with a bargepole after reading this, and I hope others won't as well - which is why I think a sticky and a consistent highlighting of this matter is better than disconnected threads buried in the boards. But that is just my opinion. I certainly agree that, speaking as a "newbie" I have no way, on first inspection, of knowing the agenda of someone posting here, and the reassurance from the site owner is something that gives me confidence in the credibility of what is said - another reason for making this more apparant.

By the way, you really didn't apply much thought to all the possible ways CHT could "know" Mr Wright, because I can immediately think of another one - maybe they have had the misfortune of being a victim of one of Mr Wrights "chequered pasts"? That's a much more credible explanation than yours!

ok so couple of points

I was asking wot I felt were valid questions, as if the company has been given new licences etc by the gov how can it be a scam or con. I was on google looking for their website to call them as im a customer and I now find this so thats why I decides to post. I think its quite normal to Google a company website to get a tel number. wot I didnt expect was to be insulted and alienated for not going along with the gang mentality and have eloise start calling me this guy carl etc. I think thats quite rude and again, attacking someone asking wot I think are some valid questions (as I now have concerns)......is this wot this thread was for, to alienate someone who asks a question that is not going along with "the gang". for what its worth chtp and cel and others who politely responded thanks. as I say it was a question as seeing the thread put me uneasy as im already using them. but as I say, to keep getting licensed by the gov makes me believe the government approval over a threads gang mentality. I will remove myself from tjis thread if possible as being insulted and as I said alienated for presenting some valid questions in my opinion is not something I wish to be part of.

I wouldn't be too surprised or offended at the suspicions Justnew, Mr Wright has directly threatened this forum in the past for highlighting his unsavoury past. We have very genuine reason to treat anyone who 'defends' him with caution.

I'm sorry to hear that you are already using one of Mr Wrights companies for an issue? Employment, claims management, management training, benefits checking? Presumably something made you concerned enough to google him and you found us?

OK Justnew, just a bit of further info for you.

The Ministry of Justice licence Claims Management Companies. For the last 3-4 years Legal Beagles goes up to meet the Ministry of Justice to work directly with them to highlight rip off conduct by licenced CMC's. Just because they have a licence does not mean they behave themselves, quite the reverse unfortunately. They even tell consumers that they are 'instructed to contact them by the government!'.
It's all about getting up front fees out of people, then holding them in years of passing the buck, claiming hold ups, etc etc. When they've done that for long enough and have got many thousands or million in the bank, they channel that money to other affiliated companies as fake services/contracts and then shut down the main company, give up their licence and disappear with the money.

We try to stop them before that can happen. Sadly, the MOJ is VERY VERY slow and even incompetent to deal with complaints and most often they get away with it.

So please don't think that ownership of a MOJ licence or OFT Consumer Credit Licence makes any company more valid. The upfront checks are minimal and anyone can get such a licence.
